Why hasn't anyone explained to the people that food assistance programs are nothing more than a government subvention for big agriculture. Ever asked yourself why farmers never complain about the government buying their products? If the government had a program to buy gasoline to give to poor people, the oil industry would be popping champagne corks, Of course the oil industry already gets huge subvention payments, so that would just be more pork for them. Oh I'm sorry the farmers already get subventions too.
